Inspiration
It is all very well thinking but if thinking does not lead to action then all it is thinking. Inspiration dies if it does not lead to action.
When we see somebody, who inspires us by the way they live their lives it is very easy to say inspiring things about them but if all we have is words then we have learned nothing.
If we speak of the wonderful example a person set us and then go out into the world and act in the very opposite way it says little about the example, we extolled.
A student of meditation attended a famous philosophical school of Buddhism. He became the student of the great teacher Gasan.
After spending a few years, it came time for him to depart. As he prepared to leave his teacher Gasan warned him. "Studying the truth speculatively is useful as a way of collecting preaching material. But remember that unless you put it into action the light of that truth might go out."
There is little point in learning to be an expert if we act like an idiot.
