23 The Rubbish Truck

The Rubbish Truck

One day a man hailed a taxi and gave the driver the address he wished to go to. As they headed along the motorway in the correct lane and at the correct speed. Suddenly a black car came off slipway right out in front of the taxi. The taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by inches! The other car had most certainly not been paying attention or keeping to the speed limit.

The driver of the other car whipped his head around and began yelling at the taxi driver. He in turn just smiled and waved at the irate driver. He was in fact really friendly.

The passenger asked him, "Why did you just do that? That man almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital or worse."

The taxi driver looked in his mirror and smiled and taught his passenger about, " The law of the Rubbish Truck." He explained that many people are like rubbish trucks. They run around full of rubbish, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As the rubbish piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you.

Don't take it personally, just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Do not take their rubbish and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.

Others do not need our rubbish, they have enough to contend with their own.
